PayPal has signed a multi-year global cooperation agreement with Liverpool Football Club, becoming the club's official digital payment partner. This is the first time PayPal has partnered with Premier League clubs to provide smarter and more convenient payment services for football enthusiasts worldwide.
As a global leader in digital payments, PayPal supports transactions in 25 currencies with over 400 million active users in nearly 200 countries and regions. With years of global accumulation of secure, efficient, and flexible payment solutions, PayPal will comprehensively enhance the online and on-site payment experience for Liverpool Football Club fans.
This collaboration will also introduce PayPal+, the first point reward program launched by PayPal. Fans can accumulate reward points by using PayPal on match days and gradually progress from Blue Ribbon to Gold Ribbon and Black Ribbon members. High level members can enjoy higher point deductions (up to 50% increase) and unlock more exclusive benefits for Liverpool Football Club.
PayPal has previously been used as a payment method on Liverpool Football Club's digital platform for fans to choose from. In the future, PayPal will further become the recommended digital payment method for clubs. As part of the deepening cooperation, PayPal will also be prominently displayed on the checkout and payment pages of the club's e-commerce platform and All Red platform, allowing fans to complete transactions safely and efficiently in a more convenient and smooth manner. The PayPal brand logo will also be featured in matches at Anfield Stadium and St. Helens Stadium.
Through this collaboration, Liverpool Football Club and PayPal will jointly promote multiple projects to enhance the influence of Liverpool women's football, and expand grassroots football projects through the Liverpool Football Club Foundation to help cultivate the next generation of football talents and promote the development of football at all levels.
Ben Latty, Chief Commercial Officer of Liverpool Football Club, said: "PayPal was one of the earliest brands to establish trust in the digital payment field, and we are delighted to welcome PayPal to the Liverpool Football Club family. It is precisely because of its professional strength in the global payment field that PayPal is undoubtedly the ideal partner for us to enhance the global fan experience. This collaboration is an important step towards our commitment to innovation, ensuring that fans can interact with the club in a smoother and safer way. PayPal's philosophy of supporting the development of women's and grassroots football is highly aligned with our values and future direction, making this collaboration more meaningful. ”
